Share Market Timings in India – There are two major stock Exchanges in India – one is the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the second is the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). If someone wants to invest in the Share Market or already investing in Stock Market, the Stock market Timing is crucial data to stay in the Indian market.
Share Market Timings in India
The general stock market trading time for the equity segment is between 09:15 am to 15:30 pm, Monday to Friday. If you are trading commodities at MCX, the Market Trading timing for MCX (commodity market) is between 10:00 am to 11:30 pm, Monday to Friday. The trading time for NCDEX (Agri-Community)is between 10:00 am to 05:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

First, I am going to start with the National Stock Exchange Trading Time. But you should note that NSE doesn’t trade on NSE Holidays and Saturday/Sunday. I’ve published a list for NSE Holiday declared by NSE.
NSE Market Timings
Trading on the equities market takes place on all days of the week (except Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays declared by the National Stock Exchange in advance). The market timings of the equities segment on NSE are:
Pre-open Timings NSE
- Order entry & modification Open: 09:00 hrs
- Order entry & modification Close: 09:08 hrs*
Note: With random closure at the last minute. Pre-open order matching starts immediately after the close of pre-open order entry.
Regular market trading Timings NSE
- Normal / Limited Physical Market Open: 09:15 hrs
- Normal / Limited Physical Market Close: 15:30 hrs
Block Deal Session Timings NSE
- Morning Block Deal Window: This window shall operate between 08:45 AM to 09:00 AM.
- Afternoon Block Deal Window: This window shall operate between 02:05 PM to 2:20 PM.
Closing Session Timing NSE
The Closing Session is held between 15.40 hrs and 16.00 hrs on all trading days.
Note: The Exchange may, however, close the market on days other than the above schedule holidays or may open the market on days originally declared as holidays as per requirements. The Exchange may also extend, advance, or reduce market trading hours when it deems fit and necessary.
